About the Ebook
This book is a celebration of British Gymnastics as the sport approaches the London Summer Olympics Games. There are 120 pages with 485 colour and black and white images of British gymnasts from the past and present. Whilst celebrating the past history of the sport it focusses mainly on the current generation of stars. The three Olympic disciplines are covered - Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline - and one section features unique behind the scenes' images of national squad gymnasts in training. The majority of the photography is by Eileen Langsley, taken over a period of thirty five years with text written by Vera and John Atkinson whose expert overview places current achievements in the context of the system and organisation of the sport in Britain. With the approach of the 2012 Olympic Games the book is well placed to commemorate this special time in the sporting history of British Gymnastics.
