About the Creator
Martin Horspool's quirky robots are born from pre- loved objects from another era. Every Robot contains original pieces from the 50s and 60s and he finds it important for people to recognise the individual components that make up each one. His search for objects has become an obsession for him and his collection of discarded paraphernalia becomes the catalyst for the creation process. Scavenging from numerous sources, he has stock piled a collection of components to make any magpie jealous. His artistic eye sees the potential in everyday objects. A door handle becomes an arm, a kitchen scales becomes a body, a bike lamp becomes a head and the recycling process comes full circle to give new life to discarded objects.
