About the Ebook
Bodie is a gold and silver mining ghost town located in the Eastern Sierra Mountains northeast of Mono Lake. It became a boom town in the late 1870"s and boasted a population of over 7000 residents and 2000 buildings. The boom was short lived and Bodie began to decline in 1882. After many years of reduced mining activities, Bodie became a California State Historic Park in 1962. Today with less than 10% of the town remaining, it is still the largest ghost town in the Western United States.
Over many years, I have been forunate to have participated in numerous Bodie Photographic Workshops which have provided early morning access and highly supervised entrance to building interiors.
I extend my thanks to Jill Lachman for her leadership of the workshops.
I have selected 40 of my favorite Bodie Images for this book, "Best of Bodie"
