About the Ebook
Welcome to my pond.
My life as an artist, and work as a psychotherapist and art therapist intersect with my path as a Zen student and practitioner in this space.
Because lotus flowers grow out of the mud, they reflect the difficult journey life can be, as well as the manifestation of true beauty.
This project was created as an offering, a personal form of prayer and a meditation. It also served as a means of inquiry and a trusted guide. Part therapy, part spiritual practice, these paintings have been my tutors in form and technique, a documentation of the passage of time and most importantly, they offered profound teachings on the lessons of attachment, transition and letting go.
This volume contains all 108 paintings from the series (with two images altered to respect the privacy of the model). An edition with essays about the process and practice of making the paintings is in the works and will be published in the future. But so many people who visited the exhibits and attended my workshops in the last year have expressed an interest in this project that I wanted to make the images available to the public as soon as possible.
