This book was created when my family lived on our boat in Downeast North Carolina. Boat life is an outdoor life, a life surrounded by water. From the black tannic sloughs of our coastal swamps to the emerald green of our sounds to the royal blue of open ocean, the beauty of this area is reflected, literally, in its waters. Each section of images begins with a short essay touching on the history and traditions of the area, but the images are the work.
