About the Ebook
This is a book of black and white images that convey the state of the rural and urban public schools in the West African nation of Liberia in January, 2014. Though the physical conditions are deplorable - the vast majority of schools have no electricity, many lack books and safe drinking water for students, the children in these schools are trying to take advantage of what ever opportunity they have to become literate and educated; they understand that without those things, they have no hope of escaping the crushing poverty that plagues post-civil war Liberia.
