About the Ebook
I aim to identify, refine, improve and combine various components of my technique and the way I approach subject matter. It’s a journey without a final destination – there will always be more photographs.
When I’m shooting, I try to keep things loose and let the inspiration come as it may. Sometimes, it’s in someone’s body posture. Other times, it’s a feeling that something is about to happen. While locations can be starting points, inspiration has found me in New York City – in Coney Island, Hell’s Kitchen, and Jamaica, Queens. Time and again, I’m inspired by certain themes, from circus performers and people mirroring each other in various ways to -- perhaps best of all -- people lost in their own worlds.
Pop culture and current events – like Darren Aronofsky’s Noah’s Ark, David Blaine’s Electrified apparatus, and Seaside Heights, New Jersey’s Jet Star roller coaster that was sadly swept to sea by Superstorm Sandy – also present irresistible opportunities.
FOUR is just a number. There’s an infinite world of images out there still waiting to be captured.
