About the Creator
I was born in June 1951, in Roubaix, an industrial city in North of France. I grow up and work there until January 1979 where I moved to Taipei, Taiwan, for professional reason. In May 1986, I married my lovely Amy who gave us a beautiful son, Julien. I received my first digital camera in 2005 as a birthday present, and a new life started. I am now a full time passionate photographer. I have been influenced by Sebastião Salgado, who I admire enormously. I try also to research into the light, like the clear obscure so popular with the Flemish painter or the bright light of the tropics. I hope that the emotions and atmospheres that appear in my work reflect and express my intimate passion for Asia. “The word photography comes from the Greek photo, which means ‘light,’ and graphein, which means ‘write’ or ‘draw.’ A photographer rewrites the world with light and shadow. —Sebastião Salgado”
